The goal of the West Ave Complete Streets Study is to provide strategic guidance for future transportation improvement projects, evaluate land-use considerations, and ensure increased safety, accessibility, and connectivity for a variety of modes of transportation in Saratoga Springs.
Feel free to explore the site to learn more about this exciting study and check back for updates as the study progresses!
The Study Area is located to the west of the city center of Saratoga Springs and is bounded by Church Street, Kirby Road, Washington Street, and West Avenue. Key destinations in the study area includes Saratoga Hospital and the Saratoga Springs Train and Bus stations, serving Amtrak trains and CDTA, Greyhound, and Trailways buses. The study area contains a mix of land uses, including a residential cluster in the west and commercial buildings along West Ave.
Currently, 3,010 people live in the corridor with a projected growth of ~1,500 people, according to a CDRPC Build-Out Analysis. Much of this is due to the over 700 recently completed, under construction, or approved new residential units in the area. Additionally, many undeveloped or underdeveloped parcels along West Avenue, Station Lane, and Washington Streets are zoned for medium density residential and mixed-use development, setting the area up for even more growth.
